After a remarkable 2009 season that saw Tommy Haas re-establish himself among the game's elite, the 31-year-old German has been dealt a setback - undergoing surgery on his right hip. He missed the entire 2003 season because of following two separate surgeries on his right shoulder, and limit his plays in 2008 after undergoing surgery for a third time.
He made an impressive return last season, winning 12th ATP World Tour title at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle and reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals, propelling him to a Top 20 finish for the third time in four years.
Haas, currently No. 18 in the South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings, made his last event appearance at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships where he made a first-round exit as the top seed.
